"It's the great pumpkin Charlie Brown"

Happy Halloween!

This classic is my favorite show this time of year.

"It's the great pumpkin Charlie Brown"

We always gather the family, pop a bowl of popcorn, grab an afghan, and sit around the television.

I always hope that Lucy will actually hold the football so that Chuck (Charlie Brown) can kick it, but she always pulls it away and he lands on his back.

I also always hope that when I watch the movie, "Titanic" that the boat doesn't sink and that Jack survives the freezing Atlantic Ocean.

I guess I am an eternal optimist don't you think?

Anyways.........

Are any of you dressing up and if so what are you going to be?

Popcorn balls are my absolute favorite treats this time of year. Are they yours too? They remind me of my childhood. A few special ladies, in my little town, made them every year. I have one of the special recipes of theirs given to me by one of their daughters. What great memories.

P.S. I have a cute little 1st grade joke for you-

What did the ghost say to the bumble bee?

Boo-Bee!!!

(insert rolling of the eyes and guilty chuckle right here)

Happy Halloween with all of your trick or treating!

I don't love Halloween; sends the dog into a frenzy every time the doorbell rings, and in our neighborhood too many older kids/teens make the rounds. It's not fun like it was back in the hood ol' days. Enjoy yours, though.

Bubbles-because of your curiosity of these popcorn balls I just went in my kitchen and photographed some for you. I will blog about them soon so you can see them:)

They are popcorn mixed with marshmellow creme, vanilla, butter, and food coloring. The popcorn is rolled in this mixture into baseball sized balls and they are amazing!!!!!!

Lanyardlady-We went to several homes this years where we sent the dogs into a frenzy and I felt terrible. We had a really good time this year. we went to so many place and got 6 big popcorn bowls filled with candy, but get this.......I had all of this candy for the second night for kids to trick or treat at our house and we only had 15 kids!!! That's it-only 15 kids-where were all of my trick or treaters? We always (almost) every year run out of candy-I was bummed out a little.......
