Yes, we have see monkeys in this house.
Now, are you really surprised about this?
Brine shrimp are actually what they're called, but calling them Sea Monkeys sounds more fun, and that's what the company named them to get kids to buy them I would assume.
Can you believe that big enormous whales eat crazy amounts of these little critters in the ocean and actually fill up on them?
I'm pretty sure I wouldn't eat them.
Well, pretty sure about that.
No, I know I wouldn't eat them.
So they're safe.
Now, their has been talk in my household about eating them.
Quit freaking out already-kids, just ask weird questions.
They are so simple to raise and I remember the older versions almost always died, but over the last several tanks we've had through the years we've have a good bit of success with them.
We put the water purifier in our tap water that we filled the tank up with and then we let it sit and purify.
Then about three days later we added the granules which were eggs.
Three or so days later we had these fluttering little dots swimming in the water and for the last two months we have been watching these weird little creatures swim together, eat, make new sea monkeys, and play.
They're kind of fun to have around the house and to take care of.
Good conversation starters, too, when people come over to visit.
(Well, I think so anyway, because people always ask about them)
We have had many years of experience with these little five dollar purchases and everyone should be a Sea Monkey farmer at least one time in their life.
Wouldn't you agree?
Skimming the top for food.
Dinner time~
Between the oxygen levels being super high and feeding them they get wild and crazy!
It's hard to get get pics of them, without blurring, because they swim super fast.
Their are also many married couple Sea Monkeys.
(I would assume they are the ones makings all the new little baby Sea Monkeys in the tank)
This cracks me up. This little guy is the only one that looks like this and I see him often looking back at me.
Yes, I wrote a blog today about Sea Monkeys.
Really?.
Why yes I did.
Is it interesting to all people? Probably not.
Do I study them, think about them, or focus on them 24/7?
Nope.
Do I sound like a girl that needs some new blog topics? Perhaps.
But these little weird living organisms are part of my everyday life and my everyday life I tend to share with you.
They're just apart of my world and kind of cool to glance out when am working in my kitchen and well........
They're just one more odd thing in my wacko world!
I'm a sucker for anything odd~
(P.S. Blogger is obviously having spacing issues and I cannot fix it. I have tried and tried. I apoligize for the weird spacing issued under my photos-Gosh, that really gripes me, too!)
