Happy
37th
Birthday!
To
To
Me!!!!
In July this rockin' babe below turned the whoppin' 37 years old.
When I woke up on my birthday morning my childhood friend, since I was three years old, showed up with.........these fun fun fun balloons.......
Talk about making this chick feel special!
Well, it did.
She also showed up with all of this......
Some gorgeous lilies, chocolate, two birthday cards, the Vanity Fair issue with Kate & William,
(I am quite fond of the royals or slightly obsessed-I'm not sure which, but leaning towards the second one)
a couple of incredible gift cards, and one shocked birthday girl!
I was in awe-

a couple of incredible gift cards, and one shocked birthday girl!
I was in awe-
I was speechless-
I was smiling from ear to ear and so was she.
I was thankful not only fro the ass-kickin' gifts, but the thought.
I was thankful not only fro the ass-kickin' gifts, but the thought.
Oh, the thought, the time, the money, the gifts, the surprise, and yeah, the thought.
The thought, the thought, the thought-
She kicked off my birthday weekend with a HUGE BANG BOOM and I love her so much.
After her and her fab hubby left our house that day we all got fancied up and took a trip to.......
Where else, but............
St. Louis.
Gosh, I love this city!
Look at the muddy Mississippi.
It was so high that weekend-yikes!
I think I have a million and one pics of the Arch.
The Arch still amazes me every darn time I see it.
You'd think I'd be used to it, but nope, I still look at it through my little girl eyes.
It's pretty damn cool.
I just took a pic of the buildings, because I just love how when you arrive in St. Louis it just kinds of welcomes you with it's beauty and history.
Okay, so I have a million and two pics of this church, as well, but I love old churches and this is right in downtown St. Louis and I can't help myself, but to show all of you that have never seen it before. My heart goes pitter pat every time I see it.
Isn't is so peaceful just looking at it?
Our goal was to get to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner.
...........and we made it there safely even with all of the traffic from the Cardinals game going on around us.
As soon as we walked in and ordered our drinks we had to order an appetizer, because they have such delicious snacky thingy's and it was my birthday and we were celebrating!
Of course, the pic my little paparazzi got of me, I had my mouth filled with all of the goodies on the table, but you know me, I share it all even myself with my mouth full of food-yes I do!
So, the waitress found out that it was my birthday, okay....so....
..................I say this to the waitress-
Me: "You're not going to do any of that silly jazz and silly stuff, okay."
(I kind of gave her the eye that said, "if you do then you die)
Waitress: "Oh, no no no, we don't do that stuff."
Me: Breathing a sigh of relief......."Oh, thank you. I am so glad. That stuff really embarrasses me...."
Fifteen minutes later after our dinner was over, the lights flicker, the music turns down very low and I hear our waitress shout,
Waitress: "MY FRIEND NIKKI IS TURNING 21 TODAY, YES I SAID 21, AND WE ARE ALL GOING TO SING TO HER OKAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Then it begins, then the chanting after the song starts, and then the clapping.
(will it ever end?)
I survived it and ended up with a hot fudge sundae and a memory for sure of my 37th birthday, but oh my gosh, I was embarrassed. I wanted to tell the waitress to please quit shouting that she was disrupting everyones dinner and then I wanted to take her out like a football player does when he tackles the opponent and just simply lay her out flat for lying right to my face, but I didn't. I sat their and smiled and thanked her, YES, thanked her for insisting that all of these strangers stare and sing to me knowing I hadn't been twenty one in many many years.
I deserved an Oscar for that acting job I performed and acting thankful for her cheerleader antics.
Maybe I am becoming crotchety in my late 30's.
Hmmmmm......something for me to think about and possibly work on.
After the sundae vanished we went out to the huge goldfish pond and fed the fish. We were going to paddle boat , but it was so stinkin' hot and muggy and I didn't want to sweat.
I am kind of a diva like that on some days.
The next night my family birthday party was at my parents and I had my favorite birthday dinner which is homemade sloppy joes and tatortot casserole (the recipe for that is on my blog) it's so good.
Click on the link at the top of my blog called,
"Feed Your Peeps"
When we left there, we all went back home and Charlie had made me a chocolate cake and he didn't have a number 3 or 7 candle to put on my cake so he made a compromise-
35+2=37
&
3 single candles and 7 single candles
I LOVED IT!
I made my wish and it already has come true just in case you were wondering.
I'm serious.
My wish did come true.
I'm not blowing smoke up your "beep" either.
