"C'est si bon"-It's so good!

So, if you have have time to kill read on, because I sure got windy on this blog.

Wowzers!

So.........

Hiatus?

I wish.

A hiatus from blogging?

Unintentional?

Of course.

I have missed blogging terribly.

I just looked and the last time I blogged was May 18.

Seriously, Blogger, I did not mean to abandon you and I am so sorry.

I thought of you while I was gone and running in fifty directions.

I missed my readers so much that I even thought of you in my deep exhausted sleepy nights.

These last couple of weeks I didn't know whether I was coming or going.

I am very serious when I say this.

(not just some excuse either)

Total lunacy has been a very big part of my life lately.

Busy!

Busy!

Busy!

It doesn't seem to look like it's going to get much better either, but I am going to try as hard as I can to blog on a more regular basis like I normally do.

I am busier now than I was when the kids were little.

How does this happen?

I just GO GO GO and DO DO DO!

I do so much laundry!

I mean Soooooooooo much laundry.

We did manage to get all my flowers in pots and in the ground.

Don't you just love my flower pots?

(Just kidding)

They looked a little more like this, but I thought the flower potty's were hysterical!

It, seriously, was a major group effort and if my kids have learned nothing else this year they now how to properly plant flowers-so I would note that as a success.

Well, a success in my book anyways.

We also have been working ridiculously in our backyard that hadn't had ANY work done in it for five years and yes, I am trying to squeeze five years of neglected abuse to the ol' yard into three days, because I am crazy that way. We got the pool set up and the water is freezing cold, but it smells like our backyard in the summer again with the smell of chlorine in the breeze.

Don't we all just look picture perfect in our pool? I would swear that this photo of us looks like hired actors or some promotional deal for the 15x4 ft pool.

What do you think?

Isn't our family just so very perfect?
 Surprise!!!

It's not us, but you get the idea!

All I know is that it smells like home to me!

(you just don't want to swim in it because it's like Arctic waters)

I was working in the river rock, around the yard and pool, and it was super windy Sunday and they were all swimming in the pool and all of a sudden the wind goes wacko and a big gust picked up our outside table (glass top of course-what else could it be?) and turns the table upside down and carries the umbrella over into my neighbors bushes which are like twenty five feet away.

This FREAKED me out!

It was like my very own super tiny speedy tornado and it happened so fast with everything that was neatly in organized little piles just scattered.

My table was loaded with pool stuff such as rubber rings, little screws, nuts & bolts and teensy weensy fun stuff to search for in the grass and rocks. Of course my coffee was everywhere and I had just power washed the patio, too.

But, so much was accomplished and their is hope again for my backyard.

Why can't I just take my time and do a little bit everyday this summer?

I am just not programmed this way.

I get something in my head and then I am consumed, but right before I am finished with a big project something happens and I can't finish it. I turn into the biggest procrastinator in the world, yet, I procrastinate like a pro-it's awful being like this.

I eventually get it done, but why must I be so ridiculous-geez!

On to another topic......

I have waited for two weeks for the season finale of Khloe and Lamar and loved it. I have always loved Khloe Kardashian the most out of all those girls. She reminds me of .........well.......me. Don't ask me why, but she just does. I also fell head over heals in love with "The Dance Scene" on E.

My arthritic pointer finger, as usual, is horribly painful. Just brushing it across clothing about drops me to my knees. Will this ever go away? My finger is so so so swollen, is drawn up, and looks disfigured. Thank goodness it's my left finger and not my right, but it sure hurts. It makes me sad when I see how horrid it looks. The pain sometimes even wakes me up because it' just that bad. I have one little old lady finger. No wonder the elderly have difficulty opening things such as pill containers and canned goods. I totally get it now. It hurts like hell!

I am terrified this will happen to my hands. I googled arthritic hands and this is photo is what I found. It's to much of a reality for me.

Will my hands eventually look like this?

The pain in all fingers has to be awful.

My hands are what I create with and what if all my fingers end up as painfully awful as Mrs. Pointer feels and looks right now?

This is always on my mind.
We cooked out over this passed weekend. Charlie makes a mixture with a teriyaki marinade and some other of his secret ingredients. He first dredges the hamburger, marinates them in the fridge, and then grills them.
C'est si bon

It would make your mouth water if you tasted them. Lately, I have been buying those sesame seed hamburger buns and so it feels like we are eating the food like we see on Food Network.

The buns make us feel fancy and cultured.

Did you know they are bigger than regular buns and are the same price?

That's my most recent discovery.

-just so you know.

Has anyone else noticed how many rabbit's their are this spring in Illinois?

Now, I totally get the whole "multiply like rabbits" saying.

Gosh, every single time I walk outside their are a bazillion rabbits playing, running, and eating.

Why are their so many rabbits? Are their any experts out there to answer this question for me? If so I'd sure love an answer to this

I stayed up super late the other night and on" E" they were playing back to back episodes of Sex and the City and I watched them all. I was so very exhausted the next day, but I couldn't stop watching. You do realize TBS never plays them anymore so I hardly ever get to watch them

Aren't my friends gorgeous?

They truly are best friends of mine and Oprah is my black mama.

I miss Oprah so much!

Doesn't mama look so pretty in her pink dress on her final show?

Weep, weep, weep.........

I kind of feel orphaned with all of these changes going on with my television family members. We all just get each other. On Sex and the City I wish they would play the real undubbed version like the old HBO days. They were so bad they were good. Can't beat the HBO version, but I will make do with the clean version reruns.

I have fallen in love with the AT&T  4G commercial where the flash mob was postponed and the guy started doing the dance all by himself and then eventually received the text-This cracks me up every single time I see it.

That would so happen to this chick if I were to ever be involved in a flash mob!

Summer break has just started and already I am getting in a real bad habit of staying up late and I want to stop it right now. In all actuality am I such a night owl. On the flip side of that I totally dig being on a schedule and up before it's light outside and starting my day. I just fight within myself all of the damn time, with my sleep issues, and it's getting worse the older I get.
My little cousin saw Snoop Dogg at the airport on Saturday and I am so crazy jealous.

I am also battling these birds that are one by one, attempting to destroy my porches with their doo doo and I am out of sorts. How, oh, how do I get rid of these awful birds they are overtaking my outside decor and living space? It is so very icky!

On another note we are growing Sea Monkeys, yet again, in this household of ours. You know the ones.......the ones you pick up at Wal-Mart for five dollars. We have grown many Sea Monkey's through the years and just recently I was asked by one of the kids this question,

"Are they really sea monkey's mom?"

My response was, "Nope, I think they are some kind of bribane shrimp or something like that, but they're called Sea Monkey's because of their tale and how they tend to jump around in the water or something like that."

I have read about them multiple times at this stage of my life.

I thought I sounded very intelligent and felt like it pacified  the question.

But..........

When I answered the above mentioned question I never dreamed that I would be asked this weird question for the next several days by all of them.

Are you ready to hear the question?

Here goes......

"Can we eat our Sea Monkeys, Mom?"

This question has been asked not by one, not by two, but by all three of these peeps.

I think by going into so more detail about these strange little creatures being bribane shrimp they are conflicted between having weird little pets to grow and with the name "shrimp" being used in the description they think of dinner time or cocktail time, perhaps.

So I googled what these little Sea Monkeys look like and they actually do look....well .......edible

(If you had to eat them and your life depended on the nutritional value you could get from them if you were in a live or die situation-I guess.......)

Well, you be the judge-

Strange, but true.

Well, this chick would never eat our Sea Monkey's....

I cannot even believe this "what if" conversation has actually taken place in our home, but worse yet, I am blogging about it!!!
I hope they don't eat our entertaining family pets......

I'm sure they wont.........

I am sorta sure they wont.........

I would almost bet they wouldn't........

I am hoping this doesn't happen.........

They had better NOT eat our Sea Monkeys!

In case you didn't know this little fact, too. I am head over heels in love with the show "Swamp People" on the History Channel.

Here's a pic of Joe & Tommy-

Bruce (He hunts the gators alone)

Glenn & Mitchell-These two kill me with laughter-so creepy!

Willie (He's missing his front tooth, too)

Troy and Jocob (A father son team)

I mean I simply cannot get enough it it. Their Cajun accents are like music to my ears. I would love to get on a boat with those peeps and hunt alligators.

Do I even hunt?

 Nope.

Am I terrified of swamps?

Yes!

Do I truly believe that I could hunt an alligator?

I do, I do.

Why do I feel like this is one of my untapped talents?

I think it's because they all make it look so fun and of course the instant gratification of the hunt and let's not forget the money involved with each gator brought into the markets.

More than all that's listed above with the gator hunts they always have big family and friend get togethers and have a great time at camp making secret family recipes.

I kind of like the mystery of the food in this case.

It's everything in life that makes me tick.

Their is just one small problem.

I do not like to eat alligator.

I have tried it several times.

Maybe it's an acquired taste.

I will sit patiently and wait for this "love of alligator meat" to happen, because if not then it ruins my whole plan for becoming a Yankee Cajun alligator hunter.

Anyways I just wanted to say......

C'est si bon

In other words "it's so good"

That's all the Cajun/French I know for now, but I'm working on my second language as we speak!

Until then you must listen to this classic by Eartha Kitt from 1962 called C'est si bon.

I have loved this song for years and I even sometimes play this cd when I clean my house just because it makes me feel energized!

I don't believe it's a coincidence that I have loved this song for years or that my first ever Cajun/French word that I learned the meaning of is actually C'est si bon.

I think fate is happening right before my eyes so I am blogging about it for my very own proof for all of my alligator hunting dreams to come true.

Enjoy!

Wow....when you said this post was long, I had no idea what I was getting myself into ;)

*Scary weather! It seems to be everywhere!
*Love Sex and the City....I do that on occasion too....stay up watching episode after episode knowing I will regret it the next day!
*Life is Busy! SO much to do never enough time to do it. I sometimes wish I was more like my husband and just focus on one thing at a time but instead my head is spinning with things I need and want to do.
*We (husband and kids) just set up our pool and the water is waaaaaaay to cold for me, I don't know how in the world the kids get into it...brrrr!

Always a joy to read your posts!

I'm just catching up on my bloggie friends and had to come check on you! Wow...very informative post! I hope things slow down for you and you are able to get some rest. I'm the same way about staying up too late, and still wanting to get up before the sun in the morning. That's my most favorite time to clean house!
PS...love the Swamp People too!

When I get to have my own house and lot, I'm going to put toilet planters in the backyard, like the photo you posted. :-D I love the whimsical idea!
